Macbook Pro. Finale 27.3. OS Ventura 13.4.1

I am just wondering if anyone has downloaded the new Mac OS 14.0

I am always reluctant to update OS until I know other Finale users are happy with it.

Regards

See this article on MM's support site:

As I recently discovered, some interface controls in the Score Manager don't work.

I have found that (large) time signatures using Engraver Time are not working correctly with Mac OS 14.0

I have saved a file using Finale v. 27 on my Mac upgraded to Sonoma. A PC friend using v. 27 can't open it on his PC. Is Sonoma the issue?

I wouldn't think so, but there apparently are some problems with Sonoma (being worked on). Check the file size of what you gave your friend and see if it agrees with the one that you can open on your computer.

Would it be possible for someone to send a v. 27 PC file to a Mac user, have them open it and save it in Sonoma and then try to send it back to the PC user?

Or could you upload the problem file here? (Repitch all the notes, delete random bars, if you don't want to make the contents public.)

As it turns out, I think the issue with opening Mac files on a PC has to do with the client's email, which is Yahoo. Thanks for everyone's responses and to motet for helping me test the issue.

It was probably trying to convert newlines from Mac style to Windows style rather than treating the attachment as "binary." There's probably an option to prevent it from doing that.

My friend opened a Gmail account and problem solved. Thanks again!
