Finale 2009
Mac OS 11.2.3
I've got a beamed figure and Finale puts the first 32nd-note stub on the wrong side of the stem. (Fig. 1) I figured out how to flip it, but now I'm missing the 16th-note stub on the other side of the stem. (Fig. 2) Is there a way to extend the 16th-note beam in the middle of a figure like that in Finale 2009 or do I need a later version to perform such wonders?

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I'm saving them all to a file for future reference.
Somehow I stumbled onto an acceptable solution while playing around with the beaming tools: It breaks the 16th beam after the second note, but it's an acceptable way of notating it and it puts all the beam stubs in the right place and facing the right direction. I'm not sure I know exactly what I did, though, so it's good I have all these suggestions if the same thing crops up in the future.

Interesting problem!
Personally I would prefer one of these: because both are clearer in that the beaming doesn't combine divisions by 16ths and 32nds. (The time signature is 4/8, so no problem with the broken beam between the first and second eighth.)
My favourite is perhaps B because the rests are more correct, even if I know that with smaller note values there's a greater allowance for exceptions from the rule that rests should not be syncopated.

Some prefer the 16th beam going through so that there is only one beam stub on the 32nd note:
