latest ARIA player version?
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I had to re-install Finale and Garritan. Evidently the ARIA player version is an old one (also the one supplied with the GPO5 download).
When opening a recent file, I get a message saying "made for Aria 1.969 while your version is 1.967."
I've looked verywhere - Finale downloads, Garritan, Plogue, but nowhere can I find this or any other, newer version ...
Anyone know where to go for this? Thanks.

Hmm. Yes, the latest version for Windows on MakeMusic's site is 1.959, (not 69) here:
https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/ ... -Installer
That's also the latest to download in "My Account > Search All Downloads" on the MakeMusic store. (Dated Oct 2019.)
For Mac, the latest version is 2.026 (helpfully out of sync with the Windows version):
https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/ ... on-Native-
Recent version of Finale should have newer versions of ARIA Player bundled with them.

well, apparently they don't ...
I posted a support ticket, and their answer was ....useless ... just sending me a link to the OLD version that I mentioned ...

If anyone is interested, just to complete this: after some diligent research MakeMusic support came up with a solution: " ...simply downloading and installing the Sforzando Player seemed to resolve the issue because it updates the ARIA engine on the computer. My understanding is that after this update occurs, the files should simply play..."
I did have the Sforzando player installed in my previous version (and that was where these files were created). Indeed, after re-installing it on the new system, the problem went away (even though in the Aria player it still lists the engine v.1.959, but never mind, it works)

You can get the ARIA Engine update 1.967 for Windows from here:
http://ariaengine.com/support/aria-engine-update/
... though it remains absurd that MM doesn't supply the latest version for both Windows and Mac, for people who are collaborating files between platforms.
I don't get it. Your link is to update to 1.967, which is what I HAVE.
Is there a link to this version 2.026 that you show a picture of?

AFAIK, version 2 is Mac only. It was developed to ensure compatibility with the new Apple silicon (M1, M2) processors.
Other than that, Windows and Mac versions should be similar in terms of functionality.

1.967 is the version that you only managed to get by installing Sforzando. (And only an update for the engine, not the Player.) The link provides another method of updating the Engine without having to install sforzando.
v2.026 is only available for Mac, and as I say, means that files shared from Mac to Windows will flag the "engine version mis-match" error.
