Installed latest V27 update. Won't print PDF using Adobe. All other programs no problem: Sibelius, Encore, Bagpipe Software, Word etc. The only glitch is V27's latest update. Removed Finale V27, reinstalled V26 works fine. Tried download V27 demo, same problem. Have message in to support.
As I've said elsewhere... It seems that all PDFs are created via Microsoft: Print to PDF, regardless if done from File> Export, Print Menu or Graphics Export Pages, and it has disabled the external Print to PDF function.
I have been using PDF Creator and now also, as a test, Cute PDF. They don't work, I get the same error message when attempting to open the file that was created. Also contacted support, so far no reply.

I have the same problem. I just updated today to Finale version 27.4.0.108. Prior to today, I could print to Adobe PDF with no issues. After the update, it first tells me to uncheck a box in printer properties related to system fonts and document fonts. Then, after I print the resulting file is damaged and won't open.

The only way to resolve this (for me), was to un-install 27.4 and re-install 27.3 (luckily I still had the original installer, unfortunately you won't be able to get it from their download page)

I've been waiting a long time for the 27.4 update. It was indeed very disappointing to have this problem with printing to PDF. Normally I use the free PDFill PDF Tools program. It is exactly the same with it as with Adobe. It does not print. I have found a simple solution for Win users: choose Microsoft Print to PDF for printing to PDF. Works fine.

I currently have version 27.4.0.108 on Windows 10. Not sure if my problem is related, but... I have been using PDFCreator to make my PDF files for years. As recently as a few weeks ago, I could print from Finale by selecting PDFCreator as the printer. Suddenly today I am not able to print. I have not changed or installed anything on my computer. Now when I select PDFCreator as the printer, Finale instead opens a "Save as" dialog, with the file type set to "PDF". The PDFCreator dialog no longer appears. If I save using the Finale dialog, it does create a file, but Adobe PDF reader is unable to open it, saying the file is either the wrong format or corrupt. I notice that Finale also has a PDF option under the "Export" menu. My Finale document page size is "Concert" (9x12), but when I choose Export->PDF, Finale creates a PDF file with page size of 10.1x14.3. My PDFCreator installation appears to be normal, as it works fine with all other programs. But when I print with Finale, PDFCreator does not get activated. Instead I get a Finale "save as" dialog which creates a corrupt file.
I notice that the files that I created and was able to print a few weeks ago say they were created with Finale 27.3.0.137. I don't remember ever updating to 27.4.0.108. Does the update happen automatically? It seems like 27.4 has big problems with PDF?

That's fine if you just want a PDF. In my case, I break long pieces up into different .musx files and then create a part by printing each to CutePDF, which stays open and appends them into one file to save when done. I'm not sure Microsoft Print to PDF works like that. Sure, I could put each piece into a separate file and then somehow join them after the fact.
Someone else here pointed out that Microsoft Print to PDF can't do higher-resolution PDFs.
This was done because some people wanted to press one button have have all their parts generated with part names incorporated into the PDF file names. That's fine, but I think it could have been done without breaking the way it worked. They must have known they were doing that and were hoping no one would complain.

Not sure if your reply was meant for me, but I do not have a question about what version I have. I said in my first sentence that I had 27.4.0.108, and yes, Help->About is how I know that. Files (.musx) that I created 3 weeks ago say that they were created with 27.3.0.137 (I know that from the File Info tab in the ScoreManager window). My point was that I could print to PDFCreator 3 weeks ago, when I had 27.3, while I can't now that I have 27.4. I don't recall that I did anything explicit to update to 27.4 so I thought perhaps Finale automatically updated itself...?

Another problem with Microsoft Print to PDF is that it only allows for a very limited set of page sizes. For example, I use "Concert" size (9x12) which isn't an option with Microsoft Print to PDF.

MS PDF print is limited to standard letter, 8.5 x 11.0 inches. I rely a whole lot on being able to print A4.
Plus, with my Nitro PDF print, I get a file size of roughly 60K for a letter size. With MS PDF print, the very same sheet produced 420K file.
Not good.
