In measure 1/4 there is a tuplet.
When I copy & paste something odd happens and besides a new measure appears.
I appreciate your time and a help

You have attached two Finale documents.
Are they supposed to show the “before copying” and the “after copying”?
I do not see any differences between the two Finale documents.
Are you saying that you are copying only {measure 1, staff 4} (= not the entire measure stack)?
I tried copying {measure 1, staff 4} to another measure.
For me it copied without problems.
In Other Words:
I am unable to reproduce your problem.

Thank you, Peter,
1) I intended to attach only one Finale document. It was a mistake to attach 2
2) measure 1/4 means measure 1 beat 4
3) the problem arises when I copy m. 1/4 of the staff 1 into the quarter rest of Staff 3
But I'm going to attach another Finale document deleting the unnecesa ry

That tuplet (= Staff 1, Measure 1, Beat 4) is incorrect.jose oscar wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:48 am… the problem arises when I copy m. 1/4 of the staff 1 into the quarter rest of Staff 3 …
The tuplet is defined as
3 Eighths in the space of 1 Quarter
But the tuplet notes add up to 7 sixteenths, should be only 6 sixteenths.
Ideas/solutions:
1) Define the tuplet as a septuplet:
7 Sixteenths in the space of 2 Eighths
2) Change the last eighth to a sixteenth.
In that way the tuplet notes will add up to only 6 sixteenths.
3) Make the 3 sixteenths a triplet:
3 sixteenths in the space of 2 sixteenths
In that way the triplet notes will add up to only 6 sixteenths. (And you will get a nested tuplet)

Then the route to write this figure is either:
1) -With TUPLET(on the left) write the 3 eighths
-you will get a nested tuplet
- With the TUPLET TOOL (above, for the second eighth): Tuplet definition 3 sixteenths in the space of 2 sixteenths
or
2) Define the tuplet as a septuplet: 7 Sixteenths in the space of 2 Eighths

… And, as you have found out, a correctly defined tuplet can be copy/pasted without “something odd” happening.
