I need to do my best to transcribe some sound files to something readable in Finale like xml. It looks like Finale MIGHT have some native tools to do that, but I wanted to ask for direction before I get too far into the weeds with something that doesn't work well. I am not looking for a free app, just one that can do the job. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

From what I understand, breaking down an MP3 would be like unbaking a cake back to flour, butter, etc. The technology isn’t there.

Yep. Still best to use your own ears, and improve your own musicianship to boot.

If you can find an app to turn your audio into MIDI, then you could import that into Finale.

Thanks, motet, I was thinking some sort of daisy chain like this. Along with my ear of course, such as it is...

If you want to do the ear method, have a look at the $39US Transcribe! program if you need a bit of assistance.
