I had to reset preferences, because Finale was not allowing any other program to produce sound.
Now, in Speedy entry, it is impossible to input a note...it only inputs a rest. Looked at "SPEEDY PREFERENCES," but nothing there seems to pertain to "input notes, NOT rests in Speedy."
Peter answered this question before, but all of my previous posts have mysteriously disappeared from the Forum, and I've misplaced the paper with the instructions.

Under Speedy you probably have "Use MIDI Device for Input" selected.
