Is there a way to make a notehead? I want a square notehead, but I don't like the 2 that are available, E0B8 and E0B9. I want it kind of like E0B8, which is just an open square, but the sides need to be thicker, so that it looks more like a note. Is that possible to do?

You might have to use a font editor.

One way to do it:

Hide the real notehead, and add a false notehead as a shape articulation.

* See the attached files (the Finale document is in v27 format)

SquareNotehead.pdf.zip

SquareNotehead.musx
(107.93 KiB) Downloaded 23 times

However, this is time consuming.
I would not like to do “a gazillion notehads” in this way.

The “professional way” is a custom notehead font, created with a font editor (as motet pointed out).

By The Way:
rjawad1, you should update your Forum User Profile (shown to the right of your posts), so it is clear that you are using v27.

Ok, thank you. That gives me some ideas to work with.
