Are there any keyboard shortcuts for selecting the "main tool" for each group, i.e Selection Tool, Speedy Entry Tool etc? I'm starting to get tired of clicking every time I need to change from one to another.

Open the TG Tools/Menu Shortcuts plug-in and create your shortcuts there. I use the function keys (except F1, which is reserved for Help).
