Hi,

I have encountered a strange behaviour in the linked parts. In the score there are a lot of swell dynamics ( p < f > p ). In the linked parts, when I increase the number of bars per system, the first hairpin (the crescendo) flips direction and looks like a decrescendo.

I have 9 of these swells per part and over 30 parts, so I am not looking forward to correcting them all by hand...

Does anybody know of this problem and know a solution? I tried copying the dynamics and hairpins with the edit filter, but that doesn't do anything. Probably because it only copies dynamics and hairpins for the score, and the ones in the part became unlinked when I corrected them.

I am using Finale 27.4.

I would appreciate any advice!

All the best,

Emile

Can you attach your file or at least the part that is having the problem?

Your problem is as many folks have not enough space. I have corrected the space issue and made a new file that looks very good. However I can't u/l to your Dropbox. You did not authorize permission to u/l. If you give me that permission or your email address I will send you the corrected fie.

If you're talking about this,

the problem is indeed not enough space, as ebiggs says. If you look at the measure before it's moved down

you'll see that you've added quite a bit of space before the anchor point of the starting point of the crescendo, and subtracted quite a bin from the ending point. So when you crowd the measure, the starting point comes after the ending point and the hairpin is reversed.
