Hello, I'm having an issue, I'm on Mac, Monterey Finale 27.4.1.146
No matter what, I'm not able to create a white rectangle to mask some elements in a score.
I've tried importing pdf, jpg, bmp, gif, svg, and png files; I also created a white shape as an expression.
On screen, they're fine and do the trick (sort of, I have to click the shape/graphic a couple of times until covering), but the exported pdf doesn't work, no masking.

Any clues?

It works for me with an expression, exporting to PDF both through the print dialog and using the Graphics Tool. What steps are you taking?

I was exporting with the graphic tool, after placing the expression/graphic and saving.

There is a Lua script, Expression Add Opaque Background. This will "add an opaque background to a single-staff expression in the currently selected region."

If this doesn't quite do it, perhaps one of the experts here (not me, by a long shot!) can make it do better.

There's a lot of rigmarole to setting up Lua, though. It's easy to add an opaque enclosure by checking Opaque and making the border thickness 0.

Thanks Motet, but this is more specific, in the attached image is what I want, but notice the hairline just right to the sharp, I cannot get rid of it moving the expression. That's why I tried importing a graphic.
But anyway, exporting pdf via Graphic Tool is not working.

Is that the end of a dotted line? Why not pull the handle to the other side of the sharp? If I misunderstand, maybe a larger screenshot would help.

No, it's just a line from the handle to the insertion point

Looks like you need to scoot your mask a little to the left, but how's this?

Yes, yours worked fine.
Can I somehow set the scooting be shorter? moving mine to the left starts to cover the sharp, with just one arrow click.
This is so weird, after downloading your file and exporting to pdf via Graphic tool, which worked just fine, I tried again with my file and worked too...

Try zooming in more to scoot. Or set your measurement units to EVPUs, right-click on it, and adjust it there.
