My 2017 iMac is stuck at Ventura, and I would like to go to Sonoma. I have seen a couple of posts installing it on an external SSD, which I have, a 1TB Samsung T-7. Apple suggests buying a mini, and using that as the drive, which is certainly an option, but I'd rather keep the $700 in my pocket. I'm sure you understand!
And before somebody asks why don't I just buy a new iMac:
- They have reduced the display size from 27 to 24 inches
There are fewer ports for peripherals
I'd be paying for a new keyboard, which I don't need (I use the extended keyboard,) and a Magic Mouse, which I don't like
I'll be 75 next week. I don't even buy green bananas
