Is there a way of automatically determining the vocal range of a part rather than painstakingly going through each part to establish the highest and lowest notes please?

Are you wanting to check the ranges, as heinzfan suggested, or do want to create the little incipit that shows the highest and lowest note of a voice part?

PS I know how to create the incipit but I am looking for a quick way of determining the data to put in the incipit!

Try this on an extra copy*) of the Finale document:

Selection Tool.
Select the Voice part.
Plug-ins menu > TG Tools > Create Handbells Used Chart…

These steps will get you the “data to put in the incipit”.

*) If something goes wrong, you will still have the original copy of the Finale document.

Hi Peter
I would never have thought of this!!!
It works - thank you.

Meanwhile has anybody come across the File info tab on Score Manager showing "a piacere" for the Score name and then being unable to change it to something more meaningful in a way that persists after closing down the Score Manager?

Maybe it's something obvious but...

Info in the Score Manager seems to be locked in to the linked text frames. If you need to make changes in the score, I would suggest using individual text frames, instead.

Hi Miker
This seems like a bug to me.
It was never this way in Finale 26 and I can think of no reason why it is advantageous to remove the facility from Score MAnager.

Do Makemusic read this forum or should I raise a support ticket with them?

I may be misunderstanding the problem. If it's one particular file, can you post it?

If you need tech support, open a support ticket. This is not an official Finale forum.
