Score format changing in mid-score

I created a big band template, and after about first 5 bars, the overall page format suddenly becomes larger than the previous measures. I recall seeing this issue addressed previously in one of the forums. so hopefully there's a quick fix.

Indeed there is a fix.

Take a good look at the default format for new pages/systems:
Document menu > Page Format > Score…

Make sure that the {Page Format for Score} settings are as needed.

Editing/correcting the settings will not affect already existing pages/systems.
This is by design, and what users have requested.

To update already existing pages/systems with the new default settings:
Page Layout Tool.
Page Layout menu > Redefine Pages > All Pages of Current Part/Score

When you have redefined the pages, all pages will have the default formatting - and all new pages will have the same formatting.

According to your forum user profile you are still using Finale 2003a (shown to the right of your posts).
Perhaps it is time to update your profile …
