In my Finale v27 Templates folder I do not see any Choral Template.BuonTempi wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 4:05 pmI found it in a new document based on the Choral (Finale Maestro) template.Peter Thomsen wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 4:46 amI checked all the templates for my own copy of Finale v27.4.1.146 - that is, I opened each template, went to the File Info chiclet, and looked at the field for “Score Name’ Insert.
No sign of ‘a piacere’ anywhere.

I also looked in the folder Default Files, and - for all the Default Files - examined the field for ‘Score Name’ Insert.
No sign of ‘a piacere’ anywhere.
Then it struck me:
Perhaps it is not in a Template, but rather in a Document Style?
And indeed:
In the Document Styles folder, in the sub-folder Choral I found the pesky ‘a piacere’.
If I am not mistaken, the problem is isolated to the two Document Styles in the sub-folder Choral:
Choral (Finale Engraver).musx
and
Choral (Finale Maestro).musx
By The Way:
I was able to fix the two Document Styles in a simple way:
1) Open the Document Style.
2) Expression Tool. Double-click in the score.
3) In the Expression Selection, in the category Tempo Alterations, select ‘a piacere’.
4) Click the button Duplicate, to get another copy of ‘a piacere’.
5) Select the first copy of ‘a piacere’ again, then click the button Delete.
Now the File Info is fixed, and you can edit/change the ‘Score Name’ Insert.
There is still a duplicate copy of the ‘a piacere’ expression, but it does not seem to cause trouble.
