I've had this happen many years ago. Windows, Finale 2014.5. I am working on a file and if I minimize it after saving, and then don't open it back up to work on it again for a long time (in this case 2 weeks), when I try to save or even save as, it says it can't find the file, etc. Even changing the name doesn't let me save as any file type. My workaround, as I remembered, was to export the file then import it back in, but then some of my fonts were wrong. What's up? ty

Do you mean you leave Finale running with the file open for a long time? If so, that's because Windows comes along and cleans out its temp directory, some of which Finale needs. The solution is to create your own Finale temp directory (in Documents, say), and point Preferences/Folders to it. You'll need to clean it out manually once in a while (with Finale closed!).

Or you could just close Finale every night.
