Hi all, I've written a score in Finale for my church's services for violin, cello, guitar, and piano. Eventually I'd like to expand the score into a suite for a full ensemble. Not necessarily a full orchestra per se, but more strings, brass, and woodwinds. What's the best way to do this in Finale? Should I add staves with the Staff Tool or is there a better way? Currently using Finale 27.4.1.110 on Windows 10/64.

Adding staves via the Staff menu is one of the ways to do it.
Nothing wrong with that.

Not necessarily better, but you can also add instruments via the Instrument List:
Window menu > ScoreManager > Instrument List

When you do so, Finale will make a decision for you - regarding the playback instrument.
You may disagree with Finale about the playback instrument.

By The Way:

You can use the utility to change an existing instrument:
Utilities menu > Change Instrument…
Mac OS X 12.6.9 (Monterey), Finale user since 1996

I never thought about the Score Manager usages for that (I keep forgetting to use that tool -- I've been with Finale long enough that I remember when it didn't have that tool so I keep forgetting it's there!) I will also try using the Staff tool and menu and see what results I get between the two. Thank you!
