Finale/ProTools issue

Hi,

I usually run ProTools and Finale simultaneously to listen and transcribe scores (which makes life a whole lot easier). But lately sometimes (most of the time), as soon as I open Finale (while PT is open), I get a low frequency signal and when I use speedy entry using a midi controller, super low notes get automatically added (pic attached). Seems like PT might be sending a midi signal somehow or some kind of other glitch that I can't figure out for the life of me. Any help super appreciated!

Super low notes being generated by software are usually keyswitches.

Does it happen when there's no document open in Pro Tools, (but the app is running)?

Really, if it only happens when PT is involved, then it's a PT issue.

Could be a MIDI Thru issue, or Mac IAB (Inter-appliction Bus).

Thought about Midi thru, I did turn it off in PT but it didn't fix the problem. And yes it does also happen when PT is just running in the back with no document open (I just tested it).
