I'm assembling a book of 50+ exercises each played in all 12 keys with a treble clef edition and a bass clef edition.
It's a big editing job!
Most of my students would prefer to avoid double flats, double sharps, C flat, F flat, B sharp, and E sharp.
Is there a utility to accomplish this?
So far, I've been going through each chart in Speedy Entry and altering the spelling of these pitches.

Try Utilities > Respell Notes and see if that does what you need.

Bad decision. Students will encounter double-alteration notation visually many times in their lives, and they will not have the reading skills. Today that is fine, but tomorrow it could be a problem.

As a music teacher I totally agree. You need to leave the double flats and/or sharps in the correct spelling of the scales.

Your replies do confirm a suspicion long held that the ability to sightread double-alteration notation is essential for classical musicians. I learned this skill while a music major at UCLA. However, my book is geared toward jazz improvisors working primarily in combos who may not have the inclination or patience to pursue arcane sight-reading expertise.
