Adding new instrument to score

I am wanting to add another instrument to my brass band score. However, when I press Letter K, to "Add Instrument", no drop down lists appears. Never had any trouble before. I have been back to completed scores and same problem arises. Help from anybody.

Try Score Manage> Add instrument button at the lower part of the page.

I'm not sure where your pressing K (a Mac thing?), but if you're sure you're experiencing a sudden change in the way Finale's keyboard shortcuts work, try these things in order:

1) Restart Finale
2) Restart the computer
3) Reset All Preferences on the Preferences page

If you've made any customizations in your preferences, of course, you'll need to redo them if you resort to this last step.

If you mean typing K to get "Keyboards" here, click on that column first. But you might as well just click Keyboards.

Basically the Macpro is not responding when I click on "Add Instrument". i.e no drop downs!!?? Puzzling!!!

If I clear preferences, can I do any harm and will Finale automatically write a new preference folder?

You'll have to redo any changes you made to the preferences, that's all.

It seems Finale stores other state information in that file, and that's where the bugs manifest.
