Does anyone have any truble with the multimeasure rests in Finale 2007. When I extract parts they don't come automatically and I need to make them by hand. What am I doing wrong?

Three ideas:

1. Measure Tool.
Measure menu > Multimeasure Rests > Create for Parts/Score...

2. Document menu > Manage Parts > Part Creation Preferences
Select the option "Create Multimeasure Rests".

3. Document menu > Document Options > Multimeasure Rests
Select the option "Update Automatically".
This option will NOT create multimeasure rests, but rather automatically update existing multimeasure rests as you enter notes.
When the box is checked, multimeasure rests will never hide notation.
When the box is un-checked, multimeasure rests can hide notation in Page View.

And the usual remark : the measures should really be empty, no entered rests, nothing. And, less known : no staff style present.
Thus, use clear in Mass Edit Tool and Staff Tool (to cancel the staff styles).
