How do I move up a rhythmic notation on layer 2 to be above the normal notation in layer 1.
I am trying to create a jazz lead-***** with kicks for rhythm section on layer 2 above the normal notation.
thanks for the help,
Guy

2 ideas :
1) In Document options->alternate notation, you could try to change the default height of the rhythmic notation so that it appears on top of the staff.
But that rhythmic notation may look a bit too big.

2) Or...if you accept kicks with x noteheads :
Create a new staff, and in its staff attributes window, make it a 1 line staff, and for notation style, select percussion.
Create a staff group composed of 2 staves : one with the normal notation, one with the kicks on top of the staff.
Enter you kicks in that 1 line staff.
When your score is finished, drag the 1 line-staff (kicks) on top of the other staff (normal notation). Use the zoom tool for a precise positioning.
For parts, extract the group.

A third way, maybe simpler :
Switch to, say, layer 4, enter all your kicks above the staff. Stems up.
Now select "show active layer only"
Mass Edit tool
Select the region
Mass Edit menu->Change->noteheads
Replace all conventional noteheads by a X (192 in Maestro)
Uncheck "show active layer only" to see all layers.
