Hello, I've been happily using Finale 2000c on a Mac beige G3 with OS 9.1.
I'm about to inherit a marginally newer machine, with both 9.2.1 and X (10.1) installed. Will I notice any significant changes or difficulties running 2000c under 9.2.1? Or 10.1? Thx, Ch.S.

I don't think 9.2.1 will be a problem at all with older versions of Finale.

But for MacOsX : Finale 2004 is the first version which is compatible with MacOs X. Previous versions will probably work thanks to the "Classic" environment of MacOs X (a MacOs 9 installed with MacOs X) but from reading the forums, some problems will probably emerge, a.o. for correct midi playback and printing...
Finale 2004 or above would definitelybe a better choice if you are going to use MacOs X.
By the way, some nice and useful features have been added to Finale in recent years. Maybe a good reason to update. Your older files will be readable with the more recent versions.

What he said.

But ... running 2006 on my G4 700 was seriously sluggish. And you will find almost all the keyboard shortcuts have been changed, which even after two years I still find mildly annoying. And, as always with Finale upgrades, once up you can't go down.

Still, 2007 on my Mac Pro is a delight.
