In previous versions, there was a PDF manuel in the help feature, and now it's gone. Help!

The Finale 2008 User Manual isn't in .PDF format, but rather in .HTM format, so you view it in your web browser.

The Help files are located in the subfolder "Help Files" inside the Finale 2008 folder.

Thanks. I ended up calling the finale help number, as nothing at all was coming up on my Help feature. It turns out that they have a bug with getting the web page to come in on Mac OS Panther, which they're working to resolve. Now it comes up but is still working strangely.

Thanks again.

I had the same problem, on Mac 10.4. BUt so far I have no solution. Finale email help suggested opening the file Finale.htm in Opera, but when I did that the two panes came up - contents and current page - but both were blank. Meanwhile Safari won't open the file at all. Just got Finale and this is a pain so far. Any suggestions? Anywhere to get a PDF form of the help file? I couldn't find anything on their website.

Thanks,
David

Thanks so much! That link showed me how to do it in Safari, and even more helpfully it mentioned that in Firefox it works without a problem. I'm new in the Mac world so I'm going to switch from Opera to Firefox (which I used in Windows) for a while and see if it works for a default browser. Anyway, now I have two ways to load the manual until they fix the default-browser problem.

Michel - appreciate your help very much.

The MakeMusic folks sent me this link, which is to the full manual in PDF format, which others may find useful:

Title: Finale 2008 User Manual PDF for Mac
URL: https://makemusic.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ ... 1184336155

The PDF file is pretty primitive, for instance the page numbers aren't correct in the ToC, but it might be better than nothing in some situations.

David
