Hello,
I've checked a couple of forums and changed the wording of my query but, unbelievably (at least to me), I get no hits for the question: Is it possible to generate a CD directly from a Finale file? Would somebody help?

Not within Finale itself. You need to do it in 2 steps :
1) in Finale : save special -> save as audio file
2) in another software (which burns CDs), import that file and burn your CD.
