Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to have measure numbers (in the form of rehearsal markings) show up at double barlines?

In the measure tool I am able to set them up to show up automatically at the beginning of each system, but I also want them to occur at double barlines. Suggestions?

Thanks
Nick

Measure Tool.

Select the measure whose measure number you want to show (= the measure after the measure with the double barline).

Measure menu > Show Measure Numbers
Mac OS X 12.6.9 (Monterey), Finale user since 1996

Manually, you can force the display of any measure number (on the Mac : Measure tool, Opt-click). Finale also usually displays the measure numbers at the beginning of the multi-measure rests.
From I think Finale 2010, you can also enter an expression (in Rehearsal marks) named <Measure number> which can use the settings of Rehearsal Marks (position, font).

Ok. I was aware of those options, but I was hoping for a way to make it automatic like you can do with the start of each system. Thanks anyway!

You also can save some time if you manage to have the double barlines only at the end of a system, never in the middle. In many cases, small adjustements to the layout make this possible...
