NotePerformer not recognizing some dynamics

I've recently moved from Garritan to NotePerformer, and by and large I'm pleased. But playback of dynamics is not working properly: it works in strings just fine, but brass and winds are not responding to either dynamics or cresc/decresc. All the settings are correct (as far as I can tell), and the Expression definitions are correct and working when used in the strings. What gives?
