flute muted on playback for 2 bars inexplicably

I have weirdness in 2 bars for a piano/flute piece: the flute playback is fine, then for those two bars, it's muted; that is, you can hear it faintly in the background for those two bars, then it comes right back in as it's supposed to 2 bars later. (also sometimes the tempo of quarter=170 will also slow down to a GRAVE for the two bars.) I've tried copy/pasting the same passage in from other versions, tried deleting/reinserting the bars, or the dynamics, etc., but nothing changes. Any idea where to look for what might be happening?

I am not sure what you have tried as “etc.”

Have you tried clearing MIDI Data ?

(Edit menu > Clear Selected Items…)

Tried clearing one bar, part of the bar, two bars, pasting in various combinations....that's my "etc."

I did NOT- and that did it! Cleared it up immediately. (I remember clearing MIDI data as a big troubleshooting tool, but I've been away from Finale for awhile....forgot. And as you can see, forgot how to use quotes properly in a reply too.) Anyway, THANK YOU!
