Hi Guys,

I'm having a problem with a single file not playing back through Audio Units, but does play through Midi. This the ONLY file with which I am having trouble. I've checked the settings in Studio View and all looks normal. Is there something I'm missing? What would you suggest I do (other than tolerating the awful Midi playback sound)? Perhaps copy and paste into a new document? (it is a rater large and complex file). I am using McBook Pro 10.14.6 Mojave and Finale 26.2.1 I appreciate any advice you may have.

Is VST selected on the MIDI menu?

On a Mac it's Audio Units, not VST.

I suggest looking at the Audio Units banks and see if anything is assigned there. The fastest way to get sound is to Reapply Playback Sounds. However, if you want different sounds than those associated with the staff names, you might not get what you want. In that case, go into the Audio Units Banks and manually assign the playback instruments. I believe this can also be done in the Score Manager.

Thanks guys for the responses. I went into Audio Units Banks as Zuill suggested and found the volume had been somehow set to zero in bank 1. Very simple fix. It is a file that I hadn't visited in a year or so and have no memory of messing with that setting, but it had to be me. Thanks again for your kind assistance in solving this issue.
