Swing 8ths For No Reason

I'm not sure why but Finale keeps playing swing 8ths in my drum part even though I marked it as Latin. I've erased all notations of Latin and set HP to none. How can I eliminate the swung 8ths?

How was the Drum part created? We might need to see the file to help diagnose the problem.

The drums are swinging practically all the way due to an Expression you assigned called Soul Groove to the percussion staff in Bar 2. It has a swing value for playback set to 100. Either get rid of that expression, or change it to not have a swing playback setting.

Ah, that's right. I copied the swing expression and renamed it. Thanks. That was dumb on my part.

Glad I could help. Seeing a file is usually the only way to make a good suggestion as to the cause of the problem. I'm glad you were willing to do that.

I do look at the "other" forum for my own amusement, but I don't post there as I have many issues with the format used, and have had discussion with the MakeMusic powers about my concerns. I noticed you posted about this issue there as well. You might want to report your findings there to put that topic to rest. Just a suggestion.

I only answer questions on this Forum. I think there is a wealth of experience here that is a great help to many, including me.
