Note input is only audible when entering notes in Simple Entry. However, outside of that mode, I can't hear the keyboard, and I need to rehearse what I'm about to enter.

You are correct. SW only has Simple Entry. You need Speedy to audition notes, only available in PrintMusic and the full Finale.
