I am running Finale 2004 on a dual 867 Mhz Apple G4 with the Softsynth for playback. In my large scores (20 staves) I often get playback problems where it starts playing back normally, then after a while all the notes sustain and it's a big mush after that.
Also, when scrubbing, often the notes sustain and refuse to end, even when I let go of Option+Spacebar. Sometimes it even crashes the program.
What could be happening? A MIDI clog? Maybe for some reason no Note Off messages are being sent. Any ideas?

I just upgraded to Finale 2006 and suddenly my MIDI is doing the same thing. It plays fine for a couple of measures then it seems to stop sending the MIDI off signal and becomes a raunchy mess.
Anybody have any ideas!
