Hi Folks ---
I wrote Finale tech support about this, but it's the weekend and i need to work in Finale. Perhaps one of you has a hint for me!
I can't get Finale 2014 to recognize my midi setup.
I just upgraded to a new iMac (3.3 GHz Intel Core i5) running OS 10.10.5 Upgraded to Finale 2014.
Using Scarlett 6i6 as midi interface, FZ-1 midi keyboard for input, my old Proteus for output.
Have Scarlett's USB cable plugged directly into iMac.
Installed current Scarlett drivers.
Device appears in Audio Midi Setup/MIDI Studio.
Created and connected in and output devices. 'Test setup' shows that the Proteus is getting midi.
Tapping on FZ-1, I I see the Scarlett's midi activity light blinks. Midi cables are evidently plugged in correctly.
Back in Finale:
Midi System set to CoreMidi
Playback to Midi System
Input/Output devices: I see the FZ-1 and the Proteus are available on the pulldown menus.
I set them for input and output.
(Though they're in italics -- does that mean they're not available?)
Using Speedy Entry, I try to enter some notes, nothing.
I try the troubleshooting suggestions on the Finale website, no help:
-- trashed the Finale 2014 prefs
-- unplugged all unrelated USB devices.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
best,
Kurt
