Finale 25
Mac
GPO 5, COMB2, JABB
I just purchased Garrison Harps. It plays fine in the Aria player and responds to a score in Finale.
GH does NOT show up in the device list and I could open it in Finale only by selecting the Aria player and then loading a harp.
I would like to be able to switch the various techniques - sustain plucking, harmonics, pres de la table.. with text expressions that Finale can recognize. How do I do this?

Hi,
Here are the instructions for installing everything necessary, plus info re: updating the aria player etc.

Hope this helps. I am thinking of getting the harps library, too.
Cheers,
HP.

Thanks, Hector
I like the Garritan Harps, but it does NOT show up on the device list. I sent a ticket from make music and they directed me to the instructions you found. It didn't work. You can do a workaround and play it through Aria I guess. The makemusic tech is still working on this and I will post an update if I get a result.

I learned two things while struggling to install Garritan Harps.
1. For Finale to add GH to the Device list, you must move the .soundmap file to the Data folder. Move (with option drag), not copy.
2. Not all harps act alike. The Concert Grande Harp from GPO5 was not working for me after installing Garritan Harps. It is a two-staff instrument (though you can use a single staff). It will not sound unless assigned to MIDI channel 2. I think this is a new behavior.
I still have to go back to the original problem of keyswitching.

Actually, Option-drag is the Mac OS X Finder keyboard shortcut for copying.fredvandoren wrote:… For Finale to add GH to the Device list, you must move the .soundmap file to the Data folder. Move (with option drag), not copy …
