I have been using Finale 25.5 (Windows) very happily for several weeks now, until today when I suddenly got a "Finale's audio engine failed to load. Please restart Finale" error every time I start the program. I have changed nothing on my system, and F25 was working perfectly 2 days ago (Finale 2014.5 also still plays back fine). I have tried deleting both INI files and restarting but this has not helped. Unfortunately the "Audio Setup" menu is greyed out in Finale itself, so I cannot check the setup with the example causes in the help file. Does anyone have any ideas what might have gone wrong?

Possibly Finale is Synced to Rewire and needs to be un-Synced.

You're right - that was the problem (though I don't understand why as I haven't knowingly changed anything since it was working 2 days ago)!

Anyway I used the "Reset Rewire" and when I restarted Finale everything worked fine.

Thank you Zuill - you're a life saver!
