... but I almost never use Finale for anything other than notation.

A client wants a karaoke-type track, simple piano accompaniment. I played with Hyperscribe and Export to MIDI, and I'm mostly okay, but I want to hear the metronome, and there's something weird. If I set Click and Countoff / Metronome Sound Source to Finale Click, I hear nothing. If instead I make the Source a MIDI note, I get the note on the downbeat and a click on the other beats. What head-slappingly obvious setting am I overlooking? Thanks. (Finale 25.4)

If the Finale Click is silent, then it sounds like you don't have the wav file used for that in the correct folder.

As far as MIDI click, the help for that depends on whether you are using MIDI or VST for your playback. If it is MIDI, then make sure you choose channel 10. If VST, you'll have to choose a drum patch (probably Jazz Fusion is easiest) in the VST bank and choose a channel. Since GM uses 10 as standard, that might be the easiest.

P.S.: After rereading your post, it sounds like you have the MIDI downbeat set to anything but channel 10 (Maybe channel 1), but then the off beats to channel 10.
