Hi, I accidentally damaged the only copy I had of a musx.file, so I opened the bakx to restore it, and the score appeared, but it was full of grey notes!

I'm using finale 2014 with windows 7. I tried to copy/paste the error point to a new document, but it didn't change anything :x
So I suppose it's like a damage from the bakx file, but I would like to know if it is possible to save the entire document without rewriting it from the beginning.. any help? :?:

Those look like hidden playback notes created by the tremolo plug-in. They're probably harmless. You can set your preferences to not show hidden notes, or you can delete them by picking "Show active layer only," switching to layer 4, and deleting them.

By the way, if you have "Automatic Update Layout" turned off, turn it back on and leave it on. There's nothing to be gained by turning it off.

I managed to hide grey notes from the score, but now there's a new problem, as you can see: long black lines that cross entire pages without stopping.

I see that these lines come from themolos passages, but I don't know how to turn them into normal tremolo signs. This seems to be the last mistake in the score (hope so..) please need help :D

Given that hidden notes suddenly were shown, Automatic Update Layout appears to have been turned off, and now this, I'm thinking now your preferences file is corrupt. Try this:

Maybe we need to see the file for ourselves. I'd like to examine what those lines are all about.

Hi, there aren't the two files for "Old preferences" in my Finale folder, so I'm not able to complete all passages written in your site #motet.
The Finale file is too big it says, and I can't post it here. Probably I can send you by email #zuill.

"Old preferences" in those instructions is a new folder you create to copy your old preferences to. Perhaps you didn't read carefully?

(If you really have Finale 2014 and not Finale 2014.5, I think it's a free upgrade.)

Some people can't find the preferences files if they don't know how to view hidden folders.

The MM directions get around that by using the APPDATA variable.
