When I play back one of my songs, the tenor voice sounds fine for a while and then for three notes, the volume drops to barely audible. It returns for the next phrase to normal, but again drops out at the end of another phrase. I have tried changing the playback from Audio Units to MIDI and back, but this doesn't seem to change anything. There are no dynamics changes near these measures.
[I am not a complete newbie, but I am also still just learning this program, so explanations need to be fairly simple.]

Is there another part with the same notes? Doubling can cause this kind of problem.
You might also try clearing the MIDI data. Use Clear Selected Items..., and choose the MIDI options at the top right of the dialogue box.

Often, in cases like this, I try playback with HP set to none. If all the notes play properly, then it is one of the HP options. Sometimes Interpreting Cadences, for example, can cause playback oddity.

Clearing the MIDI settings didn't change the problem. Changing PB to None works; changing it back to Standard brings the problem back. All of the other settings I have tried bring the problem back. Changing to Custom settings (with Standard as a basis) and changing rubato gets rid of the problem. I don't understand this.

They don't call it Human Playback for nothing. It does what Humans do: it messes things up. (A joke, of course, but oh so true.)
