Muddy Sounding Playback

Finale Version 2013 for Windows - I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced muffled/muddy sounds during playback. I'm primarily using Garritan instruments, and they sound ok when loading & composing individually. When I play the final product, it doesn't seem as clear, crisp and sharp as other music I've heard on this forum. Any assistance that can be provided would be appreciated. Thank you.

I've not heard of Finale version 2013. I have 2011, 2012, 2014, 2014.5 v25 and v26. What is 2013?

There are many elements to playback. It might be easier for us if we had a small sample file to examine as to the cause.
