sudden loss of audio on playback

Hi gang:
I'm using Finale 2014 on my laptop Macbook pro running Mojave. My file was playing back and then I closed it, and when I reopened it, no audio was coming out anymore. Nothing was changed. I started a new document, it was playing, I closed it and when I opened it again, no sound. What's going on? I need a finale upgrade?
