Sept. 6, 2019

I am running Finale 25 on a MacBook Pro OSX High Sierra. I have no other midi devices or speakers - simple setup.

After working fine through last Christmas, I started up Finale and now have no sound. This happens with playback on old files, new files, documents started with the setup wizard, default documents, and even simple entry - no sound.

I'm pretty sure it's a midi issue, because when I select "Count Off" on with "Finale Click", I hear it. Using "Midi note" for the count off, I get nothing.

I've read through the "no sound" posts, but nothing has solved my problem.

Please help!

Was last Christmas the last time it worked? Have you upgraded your OS since then? Installed new hardware? Have you tried rebooting?

Yes, Christmas 2018 was the last time I used Finale. I did an arrangement, & it worked great.
No hardware has changed, nor have I upgraded my OS. Yes, I have tried rebooting.

The only new installations in 2019 were Filemaker Pro 17, various Flash Player versions, Google Earth, and Brother printer software.

Something's causing it. Look at Finale's audio setup options again, I guess.

Meanwhile, I got this forum ad:

Have you tried these settings?
Also check System Preferences/Sound, that it is also set for internal speakers.
