Hi,
I have Finale V25.5 and I downloaded the trial version of NotePerformer.
I tried it with a concert band score of my composition, and I have some sound problems with all my percussion staves.
Instead of hearing timpani, drumset, mallets and orchestral percussion, I have a strange trumpet sound !
Does anyone have an idea to correct that ?
I'm very interested in NotePerformer as I listened to many good mockups of concert band arrangements, but I'd like to be sure it works on my system.
Thanks

Hi -
You need to make sure that NP3 will load the right patches for those instruments:
in Score Manager (CTL-K) check that each listing under the Instrument tab (far left) reads correctly (timp, Xylo, etc...), that NotePerformer is listed as the correct 'device' for each instrument, and that the listing under the 'sound' column matches what you want.
The instruments that are playing the 'default' trumpet samples probably have an incorrect 'instrument' listing. Fixing that, and then running [Midi/Audio>Reassign Playback Sounds], will probably fix many of the problems. Make sure NP3 has priority in Soundmap Priority.
However, for unpitched percussion, may also have to check that the percussion mapping is correctly pointing to NP3's 'Orchestral Percussion' Map. (Highlight the appropriate 'Sound' and hit 'Edit' next to "Notation Style:Percussion Notation" to follow through the dialogue boxes as necessary.)
Hope this helps...

Thanks for your help
I had people from Wallander and they told me the problem was in some expressions I have put on my staves, following advices on the forum to have instruments played 2nd only.
That was the problem.
As soon as I deleted those expressions, I could hear the good sounds.
My problem now is to manage to have a 2ne time only expression working with NotePerformer.
Anyone know how to do that ?

Just to be on the same page: with "2nd time only" you refer to "this line should be played only the second time these measures are played" correct?guinness28 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:41 pmMy problem now is to manage to have a 2ne time only expression working with NotePerformer.

Yes, that's what I mean.
2nd time only, the instrument only play when the repeat is done.
Thanks

Hmm. As an estimated guess, I think you might not get it to work.
Since you configured the '2nd time only' and it works without NP, but with NP, it screwed up your playback.
There doesn't seem to be any fitting expression configured in NPs HP prefs, either.

Best,
ever so sooorrrryy .... it was a mistake (I dutifully searched first for an answer or a relevant thread and didn't realize I was in the playback section), BTW I do know what latency means ....
