Finale 2014.5, Windows 7, GPO 5
The first viola entry is playing back as fff instead of pppp, yet all the other string entries are fine. I've tried clearing MIDI data, re-entering the note, re-adding the dynamic. No luck.

You have several options of narrowing down the error to its source. E.G. reduce the score to only one staff/measure, copy individual measures/staves of the score to a new document or lead Finale's MIDI data through a MIDI monitor to see which data gets sent effectively.
