When writing for guitar that has the 6th string tuned down to D2 (scordatura), and a guitar downward bend with the tremelo arm drops the bottom note to C#2, the note is excluded from playback, being out of normal range. The manual instructs the user to click on View -> Out-of-Range Notes -> Advanced. The problem I encounter is that "Out-of-Range-Notes" does not appear in the "View" drop-down menu of Finale version 2012. Is there another way to extend the range of an instrument?

That setting has nothing to do with playback. It merely colors out-of-range notes yellow to alert the novice orchestrator.

I think there may be a way to extend the playback range by editing some arcane config file, but I've never done it. Hopefully someone here has.
