O great minds, can anyone explain and / or fix the viola entrance at mm. 9, which despite everything I've tried is entering fff instead of the written pppp? And which then oddly corrects itself in mm. 11?
Thanks.

Looks OK offhand--perhaps another HP bug, assuming it recognizes pppp as a thing. You might try seeing if pp works but pppp doesn't. Another thing might be to try assigning the expression to the layer with music only.

Motet, this one isn't either. Actually the others are in multiple layers. And Miker, I've tried that multiple times. I've re-entered the line, tried different dynamics, etc.

I was looking at the wrong measure.
For some reason, the staff in question doesn't play back at all on my system in mm. 9-14. Measure 15 on is OK. Is that where the dynamic begins to be observed? That might be a clue.

See below--this is likely the problem.
This is why I don't like "Change Instrument" if I can avoid it--hard to see where it's been applied. Try selecting mm. 9-14 and using "Change Instrument" to set it back to Viola Section.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the result of Change Instrument otherwise? Zuill?
