Note Durations

Am trying to play back a newly created ballad in which notes should play full durations (legato)
But notes are not playing full duration, and sound disconnected (e.g. dotted 1/4 notes)
Am using Layer 1 Only ... Am not using any Articulations or Expressions
Have tried all the Midi Note Duration options ... no change
Have reset Preferences (as a last resort) ... no change

PS Have been a user for over 30 years, but we are all beginners with each new version

Loaded iMac Pro
Mac OS 10-14.6
Finale V26.2.2

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated

The problem with notes playing short is due to a non Garritan sample player (Vienna Ensemble Pro)
