Can anyone confirm the behavior I'm getting with the attached file? The notes with the natural sign above them play back much louder than the other notes and with an accent. The figures have all been created as expressions using the Opus Figured Bass font, and the playback setting for all of them is "none." Looking at the notes with the MIDI tool show that they should all be playing back at the same level.

Any ideas about what might be causing this?

[edit: it seems to be related to Human Playback]

[edit2: the natural sign in Opus Figured Bass occupies the same slot as "sfz" in Maestro and Engraver, so I guess that's what Human Playback is seeing. If I use the Maestro natural sign instead it doesn't happen, so I guess that's what I'll have to do. Is there any way to tell Human Playback to ignore individual symbols? I don't have any "sfz" in my score, so I wouldn't miss that one.]

The workaround I use, if a particular font and character is needed, is to create the expression as a shape expression. HP won't recognize those. Another thing that seems to work is to put a space before the character. I guess that also confuses HP, thus causing it to not consider the character you really want. You'll have to adjust the positioning to account for the space.

It happens to me. I suspect the problem is that the natural sign is sfz in the Maestro font and Human Playback is not looking at which font it actually is. You could either turn off Human Playback or use articulations for the fingerings instead.

You beat me to it, but I'll let the posting stand with its articulations suggestion.
