I read a post on the official MakeMusic forum about playback issues today with Finale 2010. Scrolling playback was the main problem mentioned. I checked 2011 and 2012, and I get the same problem. I rarely use those, but they were working properly when I got my new Windows 10 machine 3 months ago. The report was that this worked fine on Friday but not today. I also notice that MIDI playback is silent, but VST works okay. The counter also does not work.
2014.5-v26 work fine, so I'm guessing it is an issue with the 32-bit version.
Can anyone with Windows 10 confirm these findings?

2014.5 is 32.bit.
Finale 2005b and Finale 2011 seem to playback OK for me, MIDI playback. I have not installed "Windows 10, version 2004", which seems to be something one manually does, but otherwise am up to date. (MIDI playback has never worked for me in 2014.5 - I have to use VST with the SoftSynth sounds.)
Can you provide a pointer to said article? Posts there seem to be in a random order.

It said there that a reboot didn't help. I just rebooted and things are back to normal. So, I can't say why a reboot fixed it for me and not for him.

I once resolved an issue in Finale by uninstalling a Windows update. Three weeks later, I reinstalled the Win update and all was well. Upon direction by MakeMusic, I also had to reinstall a Finale update--twice--before solving a problem. I now delay Microsoft updates 30 days, since too often, MS releases a patch to fix a bug-ridden patch. Sometimes several cold reboots are necessary, after running a string from the command line.
