I have a piece in ABA form with a DC al fine. At the fine the first time I have it skip, but there's a fermata on the first note of that measure I want observed only on the second pass, when the fine is observed. Is there a way to set a fermata to be observed only on the second pass?

Articulations don't have the same options that Expressions do when it comes to determining which pass is effective. If you are needing a demo for playback purposes, you might need to just write it out ABA without the D.C. Another option is to create a first and second ending at the Fine spot that skips directly from the first ending to the B part, and then only does the 2nd ending on the second pass (D.C.). This is doable in Finale. I've attached a demo of how to set this up.
