I am finding that when I turn on Human Playback, longer notes (half notes, whole notes) seem to have a built-in crescendo that tends to get really too loud on some instruments. In my case, the Flute part.

Is there a way to adjust this?

Also, if I may, is there a way to apply Human Playback by individual staff rather than for the entire score?

Many thanks as always for your guidance.

There is a preferences setting for HP affect on long notes. Try turning that off. With the MIDI Tool, you can apply HP (hard wired) to just one staff. When doing that, it asks if you want to set HP to none. Otherwise, it my have some conflicts with the hardwired data. You can apply HP to all the staves. The most conflict you might have when one staff has hardwired data generated from the HP settings is hardwired Tempo data. There are 4 settings in HP preferences as to how hardwired MIDI data interacts with what HP does on the fly, but that would take some experimentation on your part as to what would work in combining the two.

I appreciate your reply but some of it is a bit over my head. I tried turning off just about everything on the Human Playback Preferences Dynamic/Volume Tab. Nothing seemed to help. It is probably my ignorance about the program. I guess I will just have to live with it.

Thanks, again.

If I could see your file I could make specific suggestions. It all depends on what's in there. I just did some testing with HP preferences and a Custom HP setup, and I was able to get rid of the dynamic changes on long notes, which is what I think you want.
